Should I be concerned about quality?
When you’re used to overpaying for medical care, it may be concerning to pay much less for a procedure or service. You might wonder, “Should I just pay more and go somewhere better?”
The answer? No. Think about price-matching. Let’s say you’re looking to buy a new TV for your living room. You do some online searching and find that the cool flatscreen you want is $5,000 at Store A but $3,500 at Store B. So, what do you do next? You go to Walmart, not Best Buy.
It’s the same TV, but one store charges a significantly higher price. The same goes for healthcare. You can still get the same quality service, the same quality procedure, by the same quality doctors at a significantly cheaper price. Why? Because the cost of care is determined by facility, not quality.
How much can I save with SmartPay?
Savings vary depending on the procedure. For example, members who choose SmartPay for a baby delivery may get $750 in savings. For an MRI, members will generally save $250. For a knee replacement, we provide $3,000 in savings. Typically, members with a SmartPay eligible procedure can save an average of $100 – $5,000 in reduced out-of-pocket costs.
How to Participate
Like any of our member programs, it’s simple. Just give us a call before your procedure, and we’ll help you identify a SmartPay eligible provider. We’ll also let you know your out-of-pocket responsibility and your potential savings. We’ll even schedule the appointment for you and follow up with you when the date of the procedure approaches.
