Updated Mammogram Guidelines
Great news! If you don’t completely love the mammogram routine, the official guidelines have changed and you no longer need to get your mammogram every year. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) now recommends that all women get screened every other year starting at age 40. It’s important that you receive a mammogram every two years to check for breast cancer or other abnormalities. Mammograms can detect cancer while it is still very treatable.
Details
Beginning April 30 2024, the USPSTF recommends that all women be screened for breast cancer every other year starting at age 40 and continuing through age 74.
