It’s important to take steps every day to stop the spread of illness, but it’s especially important amid the current Coronavirus outbreak. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recommends simple measures you can take that can lower your risk, and the risk of others, from getting sick.
Lava tus manos
While it seems simple, effectively washing your hands can significantly help combat the spread of illness and viruses, such as COVID-19. Washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds can help protect yourself from contracting viruses (for example, touching your eyes or nose with unwashed hands) as well as others.
Cover Your Cough
It goes without saying that you shouldn’t cough on others, but you can actually mitigate the spread of viruses simply by covering coughs, and sneezes, with your arm or a tissue. Making the effort to cover your coughs and sneezes lowers the risk of others inhaling infectious particles in the air and ultimately getting sick.
Stay at Home
While this may not be realistic for everyone (say, healthcare workers), staying at home amidst a virus outbreak can be the most beneficial way for both you and others to stop the spread. You should also stay at home whenever you are sick, not just during an outbreak like Coronavirus.
