The following information is meant to offer insight as you work with our shared clients and assist them in making critical decisions regarding their current medical insurance and employees. All information shared reflects current knowledge and MotivHealth policy for the date specified.

Does MotivHealth cover COVID-19 testing as a preventive service?
Yes, MotivHealth is covering COVID-19 testing as preventive. However, all medical intervention resulting from a positive test will be subject to the member(s) deductible, coinsurance, and max out of pocket.
What is MotivHealth’s policy regarding employees furloughed as a result of COVID-19?
MotivHealth will allow employees that have been furloughed or have had their hours temporarily reduced due to COVID-19 to remain active and eligible for medical coverage, so long as their employer has defined them as “active” and premium payments continue to be made.
Will MotivHealth allow terminated employees or those temporarily laid off to remain active with medical coverage as a result of COVID-19?
MotivHealth will not allow employees that have been terminated or temporarily laid off to remain active on medical coverage. However, employees may be eligible for COBRA due to being terminated.
Will MotivHealth allow employers to make changes to their eligibility, enrollment, or benefit strategies mid-year as a result of COVID-19?
MotivHealth will allow employers to request alterations to their existing benefits. However, MotivHealth reserves the right to approve or deny those requests, per our contract and to ensure legal standing. In certain scenarios, acceptance of a change in benefits will result in a special enrollment period or SEP.
What is MotivHealth’s policy regarding deferral of premium payment in lieu of COVID-19?
Generally, MotivHealth will not allow employers to defer premium payment. However, MotivHealth does understand the uniqueness of the times and reserves the right to evaluate requests on a case by case basis. Should you want to discuss payment options on behalf of your client, please contact your assigned account manager.
At this time, will MotivHealth re-evaluate existing rates based on a reduction in headcount, as stated in their underwriting guidelines?
MotivHealth will evaluate each situation on a case by case basis to account for each employer’s unique circumstance. Per our contract, MotivHealth does reserve the right to have rates change based on a reduction in participation and/or eligibility.
Does MotivHealth anticipate delivering renewals on time or will it be open to extending rate periods and/or postponing renewals?
MotivHealth doesn’t expect renewals to be delayed or postponed at this time.
What additional services is MotivHealth offering to assist its clients during the COVID-19 pandemic?
On March 1st, 2020, MotivHealth expanded telehealth services, via HealthiestYou, to all clients not currently utilizing the service. The expansion of this free, temporary virtual service is meant to provide MotivHealth members with greater access to medical providers and clinical insight at this time. This limited trial is expected to expire at the end of May 2020. MotivHealth will allow the use of many other appropriate telehealth services from in-network providers at our allowable charges including most consultations, disease, conditions, and medicine management. Early medicine refills can be requested as well as extensions to prior authorizations.
What resources are available for small employers seeking assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic?
MotivHealth recommends impacted employers work with the following SBA programs when seeking assistance during this unprecedented time:

- Disaster Loans
- SBA Debt Relief
- SBA Express Bridge Loans

What options are available to assist my employees during the COVID-19 pandemic?
MotivHealth recommends you inform your employees of the following programs meant to provide relief during these challenging times:
